3 Shifts, 800 Employees — Gebze OSB
Situation
A manufacturing facility in Gebze Organized Industrial Zone transports 800 employees from 14 districts of Istanbul and Kocaeli on a 3-shift schedule (06:00, 14:00, 22:00). A separate route plan is required for each shift, and headcount constantly changes due to leave and holidays.
Problem
Fixed routes led to inefficiency. In one shift a 12-seat minibus would depart with 4 passengers while another shift left staff waiting due to insufficient vehicles. Monthly fuel bills ran 40% over budget.
vitaRoute Solution
The vitaRoute API was integrated with the ERP system. At each shift change, the updated employee list is automatically sent to the API, and optimized routes are generated by evaluating 20+ parameters (address, capacity, road distance, district rules, traffic).
Sonuç
Vehicle utilization rose from 58% to 87%. Monthly fuel costs fell by 31%. Employee satisfaction scores for shuttle service improved from 6.2 to 8.7.
